A mysterious, lethal disease is on the loose worldwide, resulting in a catastrophic death rate of humanity, and the increasing rise of attacks, caused by the living dead.

In Japan, several high school students and a school nurse have banded together to escape Fujimi Private High School shortly after it was attacked by "them." The group now attempts to figure who or what was responsible for this plague, and in the meantime, attempt to survive the present apocalypse. 

Kenn's Comment: Not for the younger viewers, or the faint of heart. They'll probably tone it down for TV, but nevertheless it is still rather gruesome. I hope they don't follow Gonzo's lead and play on the fanservice aspect of this in hopes for sales, like Gonzo did for Rosario + Vampire. Anywho, it's a Madhouse production so I've got some preset expectations, they're up there with Production I.G. and other companies at the top. Not sure how far they'll go into the manga for the TV series. The manga has gone off on hiatus a few times, and I really don't see any good place in the manga where they can leave it off. The easiest way would to end it by pulling the cast out, but that wouldn't be very exciting, would it?
