Series Summary form ANN:
A normal high school boy Kisaragi Ryuji's peaceful life is turned into an adventure by the return of his second cousin Eriko. Ryuji and Eriko seize a relic box from a black broker. In the box, they find a red dragon girl Rose. In order to protect Rose from the black organization, Ryuji decides to fight using his power as a relic handler.Kenn's Comment: The series summary is about as flimsy as sugar glass, the character design is a wee bit iffy (though it's actually quite similar to the light novel illustrations), and DEEN is animating it. While I've got a wee bit more faith in DEEN than a few other studios, I've also had a few problems with them too. Though like GONZO, they've had their ups and downs (though in GONZO's case, their more recent works were much the source of much of their downs).
Anywho, Kugmiya Rie stars as Rose, and from trailer she's using a voice the voice she usually does (Nagi, Taiga, Louise...list goes on and on). I've gotten a bit tired of hearing that voice. Though, I have to admit, the voice she uses for Shannon (Umineko) and Mizore (R+V) is very nice.
Kugimiya aside, the last time we had a series with Dragon (excluding Dragon Ball because that's a long running series) in it's title, we got Dragonaut. I watched the first few episodes and I'll just let this ANN review do the talking.
tl;dr: “if you irradiate poop, it will be sterile, but it's still poop.”
Will Dragon Crisis follow suit? I surely hope not. It's based off of a light novel which seemingly has done fairly well and to my knowledge doesn't have character with boobs the size of nuclear warheads. Plus it's DEEN and not Gonzo. The worst we'll get is a series with a terrible, terrible ending that leaves no hope of a second season because of how terribly messed up it became half way through the series.
