Hopes, prayers and as much good will as I can muster goes out to those affected by the earthquake that hit Japan today.

That was me for more or less the last couple days.
...No, I was not a cute girl in a seifuku with a white NDS. I do have a red DS though. A bright, clown-nose red first gen DS.
m(_ _ m) I apologize for the lack of updates. Been glued to the DS as of late, and really, I haven't been doing much at home. I did work on the first of the Fall 2010 anime reviews though, and I've finished the first series...of at least 13. That aside, school's getting back into session as of tomorrow, so I'll be busier than I have been in the last few weeks. It'll be a nuisance, but I'll see that I get things done.

あけましておめでとう! 今年もよろしくお願いします。
That translates to something like 'Happy New Year! I'm counting on you for this following year". The second part is a bit funny to phrase in English as to my knowledge, there isn't really an equivalent. If anyone has a better translation, throw it at me.
Hit More After the Jump for more New Years 'cards'.

A dancing doll. Yes, that's right. And no, it's not possessed. Saw it on Dannychoo.com just now.
For those who don't remember, last month, or exactly 32 posts ago, Natural made a post on BJD's. Well this one is a tad bit different. You can see more of her at the owner's website.
It's a 60cm Ball Jointed Doll, with modifications to it's limbs to enable movement. I read somewhere that it's got 25 servo's in it to give it it's motion. It's called 'The Super Dollfie' and here, it's dancing to Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca.
Dancing to Levan Polka. The modifications to the limbs aren't very noticeable and really allow a wide range of movement, in the arms at least. It suffers the same problems that many robotic engineers face though, being bipedal, it's difficult to do motions with the legs without it falling over. Super Dollfie would probably be good at Para Para.
Here she's dancing to Bad Apple. For those who haven't seen it yet, I recommend you go watch the stylized shadow PV. The doll's movements get better and better everytime he does a video, and in this one it's almost a tad bit scary. Probably not a good thing to watch if you're doll-phobic. Autonomous dolls probably would scare the pants off of them. Miko outfit is great too.

For those who remember, Solanin was on the Manga of ze Week many moons ago (a little under a year ago). I said that there was a live action being done for it. It's out! *u*
The song used in the PV is 「ソラニン」(Solanin) by ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION. Will have to try and find it once it's out on DVD/ bluray.

Hey guys, on the laptop again. Haven't been using it recently, no real reason to. Anywho Microsoft had a promotion for a month (ended today) where you had to put keywords into their search engine, Bing. Each time you put keywords in, a meter went up. At 50% they'd give a present, and at 100% they'd give a special present. Knowing Japan's users, they reached 100% in no time. Result is after the jump.
Yes, that is my desktop. And so are the next five. The five Bing girls. Which one is your favourite? Mine is split between ナナ & ナナコ. These five are different and seperate from Madobe Nanami, the special character bonus for Windows 7. They all have 'ナナ' in their name, referring to 7, of Windows 7. ^^; The Nanami you see down below isn't the same Nanami as this Nanami.

Don't tell me that it's not one of the coolest music videos ever.

It's been a little more than forever since I last watched an episode of Pokémon. Same goes for the game. I went to satisfy my Pokémon craving by listening to the Pokérap, when something caught my eye...
He's just so awesome. I think he sounds better than the original rap. I can see why they were so intent on changing it to the one they used for North America.
On a different note, I don't think I've ever watched an episode of Pokémon in Japanese. It's always been the dubs for Kenn...
But I do know a bit about it.
Kasumi (Misty) = Tsundere
Haruka (May) = Big boobs
Hikari (Dawn) = Loli
Hikari doesn't really look loli, but keep in mind that Satoshi (Ash) is like...18 by the time he reaches the Sinnoh. Hikari is only 10, which puts her in with the rest of the lolis. Oh, and Haruka is 10 when Satoshi's in the Hoenn region, while he's 14. That's some bust size for a 10 year old. I don't think Kasumi can compare, even with the 8 year time gap.

There's quite a few of them too. Trailers and whatnots included. I'll try to organize them by premier date.

Song by Jimmy Thumb-P, PV by Tripshots.
Well, I'm sure they would've been able to get 10,000 signature rather easily, and I'm pretty sure that they already have more than 10,000 of them. But if you still want to, the petition stays open for another few days.
You can sign here get have Miku put on a 8x12 cm plate on あかつき (Akatsuki), Japan's Venus probe sometime early this year. Help spread Miku's influence across the cosmos! Sign the petition!

Song by Arashi (Sakurai is my favourite guy in Arashi btw)
*u* The drama adaptation of Sahara Mizu's wonderful work. Was featured in one of my fabulous Weekly Manga fixes. Maybe I'll get around to watching this. I prefer 2D over 3D though...only in terms of shows I'm watching. May have a few more posts coming this week. Manga comparison, an anime thing. xD I dunno.
=l Arcade. Coming soon for the arcades in Japan.
Title: Project DIVA Arcade (tenative)
Developer: SEGA
Genre: Music, Rhythm
System: ARCADE
Kenn's Comment: ._. Well, the news about the new Project DIVA wasn't a PS3 port, but an Arcade version of the game. I wouldn't run it past SEGA to make a port of it in the future though...*crosses fingers*
Anywho, SEGA's accepting entries from the public (Vocaloid User specifically) to submit their songs for the game. Winners will get their songs featured in a test run of the game sometime early next year (2010). They're already some song that people submitted floating around. I've found a few already actually.

SYMPHONIC DIVE
Saw it on DannyChoo.com recently. For those who don't know, the concept is from Sora no Otoshimono.
When it's flying, it looks really cool. I really want to build my own. Now, hear me out - it's not because it's a flying pair of pantsu, creating a machine that's capable of flight is, by all means, a feat in itself, even if you are simply following a template. I've how to build the design of the ornithopter the guy uses in the video, and I'm still hunting for the measurements and other details.
It's from the special ending of Sora no Otoshimono episode 2. The song is quite nice ^^;
In absolutely no particular order, we begin..
Note that there isn't too much information about these people, other than what they sound like. They're also known as うたってみた, utatte mita (tried to sing). This is just a short list of a few, and there are many, many more singers out on NND. DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS EVEN A GOOD CHUNK OF THE SINGERS OUT THERE. Some of them put professional singers to shame ^^;
anima/あにま (初めての恋が終わる時 ver.あにま)
anima's voice is similar to Ren's, but he's done covers of songs by most of the Vocaloid characters.
clear (初めての恋が終わる時 ver.Clear)
Clear's voice is similar to the ranges of Kaito and Ren, thus he is often portrayed as Kaito (sometimes Ren). He is one of the more well known and popular singers.
Halyosy
The lead vocalist of the professional band, Absorb. He often does covers of Vocaloid songs on NND. He's one of the few male vocalists able to hit extremely high notes. As a professional singer, he puts a lot of emotion into his singing. This is a perfect example. Wells up the tears nearer to the end.
nayuta (letter song ver. nayuta)
Her voice is in the range of Miku and Rin. While it is high pitched, it has a sweet, relaxing tone to it. This song is a perfect example.
Chouchou/ちょうちょ (Last Night, Good Night ver ちょうちょ)
Her voice range is similar to Meiko and Luka's. She is one of the more well known and popular female singers. She has a good voice, and her singing ability is possibly one of the best among the singers.
Usa (Last Night, Good Night ver. Usa)
Her voice range is similar to Miku's and Luka's. Her English is one of the better ones among the singers. Like ちょうちょ, she has a good voice and is an excellent singer.
Jack/じゃっく (千年の独奏歌)
His voice range in similar to Kaito's, and is usually portrayed as Kaito. He has as radio show (you'll have to find it yourself because I can't), where he will sometimes do covers of songs. He has several duets with Chouchou
Piko/ピコ (Hope and Despair)
A popular male singer on NND. He's usually portrayed by a doll. He has a strong voice, and is an excellent singer. He also has done an excellent cover of Don't Say Lazy!. I'd say his popularity rivals clear's (though I prefer Piko over clear ;D)
Dasuko/蛇足 (いろは唄ver.蛇足)
His voice range is similar to Kaito and Gakupo's. His is almost always portrayed as Gakupo, due to the similarity in voice. I personally think that he sounds a lot like Gackt (and Gakupo in that case). He's fairly popular, though he may be most famous for Imitation Black, a collaboration with Valshe and clear.
Valshe/バルシェ (Soundless Voice)
Her voice is similar to Luka, though she can also do a very good Ren. While she does covers of other songs, her Ren covers are usually the more popular.
Nodoame/のど飴
I honestly haven't heard much about him around. This was the first song I've heard from him. From what I've heard though, he's got a powerful voice, and is best suited for high energy rock songs. He seems fairly popular.
